Globalno gledano je 2 % zavr\u017eejo trgovci, 5 % gostinci, <strong>najve\u010d, 11 %, pa gospodinjstva<\/strong>. Po podatkih statisti\u010dnega urada (SURS, 2021) <span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>povpre\u010dni prebivalec Slovenije na leto zavr\u017ee okoli 68 kilogramov hrane<\/strong><\/span>.<br \/>\nGlobalno gledano vr\u017eemo stran toliko hrane, kot je pridelamo na pridelovalni povr\u0161ini, veliki za kar 635 Slovenij. V razvitih dr\u017eavah, kjer imamo sve\u017eo in poceni hrano vedno na voljo, tako med odpadke romajo ogromne koli\u010dine odve\u010dne, prete\u010dene ali celo sve\u017ee hrane.<br \/>\nZaradi hrane, ki je mogo\u010de sploh ne u\u017eijemo, smo izsekali gozdove, v izumrtje poslali \u0161tevilne rastlinske in \u017eivalske vrste, preselili avtohtona prebivalstva in degradirali prst. \u0160e ve\u010d, zavr\u017eena hrana prispeva k pove\u010devanju izpustov toplogrednih plinov, saj z razgradnjo organskih odpadkov nastaja toplogredni plin metan, ki v primerjavi z ogljikovim dioksidom \u0161e intenzivneje vpliva na globalno segrevanje. Vpliv zavr\u017eene hrane na okolje sega \u0161e nekoliko dlje \u2013 skupaj s hrano namre\u010d zavr\u017eemo tudi ogromne koli\u010dine vode in energije. Na ravni Evropske unije denimo za pridelavo hrane, ki jo potem zavr\u017eemo, porabimo toliko vode, kot je je v treh \u017denevskih ali pa v kar 267-ih Bohinjskih jezerih.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #008000\">Kot posamezniki lahko zmanj\u0161amo koli\u010dino zavr\u017eene hrane tako, da obroke na\u010drtujemo glede na to, katera \u017eivila je treba porabiti prej. Prav tako naenkrat ne kupimo preve\u010d hitro pokvarljivih \u017eivil in ne kupujemo prevelikih koli\u010din hrane.
